Student support and triage team
- Please call the Student support and triage team via the Serious Concerns Line.
- There is a one minute hold message on the Serious Concerns Line before your call is connected to a team member. We kindly ask for your patience and assure you that your call will be transferred promptly.
Student support 247 helpline
- A free 24/7 helpline provided by Health Assured. Your call will be answered by a trained counsellor, who can listen and offer support on a range of issues, such as bereavement, stress and anxiety, family issues, exam worries and any other concerns you may have.

- Counselling and mental health support for registered students who need to explore their difficulties in more depth using solution-focused methods. The Wellbeing Service provides structured, appointment-based support.
Wellbeing self-help resources
- We've developed self-help resource handouts on topics commonly discussed in counselling and specialist mentoring support.
- Wisdom App for live chat and video counselling.
- Student Health app download free.
Access Health Services
- Register as a patient for GP appointments to talk about your health and get access to NHS services, including mental health support.
Anti-Sexual Violence Service
- The Anti-Sexual Violence Service at UWE Bristol offers confidential support if you’ve experienced sexual trauma of any kind, recently or in the past.
Bristol Mental Health
- Bristol Mental Health provides NHS services to support people experiencing an extreme mental health or emotional crisis.

- The University's Chaplaincy Team are available provide a listening ear and offer spiritual direction to staff and students of all faiths and none.
Drugs and Alcohol Service
- Harm reduction advice and support for registered students who want to explore their substance use in more depth. The Drugs and Alcohol Service provides structured, appointment-based support.

- There are Information Points on each campus. Just drop in to one of them and they'll help you navigate all the support on offer.
Mindline
- Mindline is a free, confidential helpline that anybody in Bristol can call if they need emotional support.
- The line is staffed by highly trained volunteers who will listen, support callers, and help them to work through their feelings, for up to half an hour per day.
Neurodivergence and mental health support

- Specialist practitioners offering a range of study support services including groups, workshops, drop-ins, one-to-one support and neurodiversity screening.
NHS Talking Therapies
- They offer a range of short-term psychological therapies to adults who live in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and are registered with a GP there.

- Shout 24/7 Crisis Textline is a service that offers support via text to UWE Bristol students experiencing a mental health crisis.

- The Stay Alive app is a pocket suicide prevention resource, packed full of useful information to help you stay safe.
Student Experience Coaches
- Student Experience Coaches work with you to help you overcome anxiety connected to your life at university and outside the classroom. They support you to build a plan for defining direction, overcoming obstacles and achieving your aims.
Student Health App
- Why Google your symptoms and risk getting overly worried? Download the Student Health App and use it to reduce your worries and know where to go to get the support you need.

- Student Reps work to create positive changes to the learning experience at UWE Bristol, so if you're having trouble in your course, speak to your rep.

The Bridge

- The Bridge is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). They offer medical care, emotional and psychological support, and practical help to anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted. Also offer information and support to friends and family if someone you care about has been affected by rape or serious sexual assault. Available 24/7, 365 days a year.
