Music lessons - mini courses
We provide free, or hugely subsidised, four week mini music courses to our members for band instruments, voice, DJing, songwriting and music software.
Piano/Keyboard
Start your piano journey with this beginners piano course.

Guitar
Our guitar mini course, for both acoustic and electric guitar, is taught in small groups of two to five. We will supply instruments or bring your own if you wish.

Drums

Vocals
Mini courses for the voice are taught in small groups of two to five, especially suited to pop and rock vocals with a focus on improving breathing, pitch, voice production and expression.

DJing
Sessions run throughout term time to introduce you to our DJing equipment and get you started whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced DJ.
You can enjoy hands on sessions and our tutor will run through the basics of digital DJing including beat matching, using sync and more.
Our DJ booth is equipped with two Pioneer XDJ700s, 2 Reloop RP-4000 Mk 2 vinyl turntables and a Reloop RMX-60 Digital Mixer. You can bring a USB stick or external hard drive and plug straight into the decks.

Logic Pro
Get to grips with Apple's market-leading music software for recording, arranging and mixing your own music, whether you are starting from scratch or looking to expand your knowledge. Bring your own computer or use Centre for Music's Macbook suite complete with MIDI controllers and headphones.

Ableton Live
Ideally suited to electronic music production and beat making this mini course will introduce you to making tracks on Ableton Live, or build your expertise if you are already a user. Use Centre for Music's Macbook suite or bring your own computer.

How to book
- If you are not a member you will need to become a member in order to sign up for upcoming sessions. Current members will need to re-register every academic year.
- Members will be able to book via our booking system, 10to8. This information is emailed to you upon joining.
- If you cannot make one of your lessons, you will not be able to book another at a later date due to tutor availability and timetabling.
