Applying after the January deadline

If you’ve decided to apply to university after the January UCAS deadline has passed, you’re not alone, and it’s not too late. Here are all the options explained:

  • If you haven’t made any university applications at all, you can still apply through the UCAS Hub in the same way as applications made before the January deadline.
  • If you have made some applications but not used all 5 of your choices, you can add more (up to a maximum of 5) on the UCAS Hub.

UCAS Extra

  • If you’ve already applied and used all 5 of your choices but have perhaps changed your mind about the course or location, you can make one more application through UCAS Extra. You’ll need to make sure you’ve declined all 5 of your existing offers to be eligible for UCAS Extra.
  • If you have used all 5 of your choices but didn’t receive any offers, you can use UCAS Extra to make one more application.

"When choosing a university, it is important to consider things like the location, standard of teaching and facilities. I also wanted a university with a good academic and social balance where students are encouraged to be part of the full university experience."
