How to apply
This is the place to find out all about how to make your UWE Bristol application, and make changes to an application you’ve already started.
How to apply
Find out how to apply, depending on your preferred method of study.
Full-time applications
If you’re a UK or EU applicant interested in full-time undergraduate degrees or foundation degrees, you need to apply online through UCAS. It’s really straightforward and you’ll be guided through each step. Even if you want to join us in the second or third year, you still need to apply via UCAS.
Part-time applications
If you're interested in applying for a part-time course with us or a local partner college, you need to apply directly to us, or the college.
View our part-time courses and apply online via the 'apply' button on the course listing.
Deferred entry
It may be possible to defer your entry once you have received an offer. Email the Admissions Team at admissions@uwe.ac.uk to confirm that you would like to defer, this will then be considered and your application updated if possible. Some courses do not allow deferral and this will be specified on the appropriate course page.
Year 2 or 3
It may be possible to apply for advanced entry if you have completed equivalent study elsewhere. When you apply through UCAS please indicate which year you would like to enter into and you will be sent information on how to apply for Accredited Learning by our Admissions team.
Declare a disability
Your application will be considered based on your academic suitability and passion for your course – disability doesn’t play any part in the decision-making process.
However, it is important to let us know if you have a disability on your application form so that our dedicated Disability Service can work together with you to explore your needs and put the right support in place for you.
Disclose a criminal conviction
If you have a criminal conviction, please make sure you declare this on your application if your course requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check – if your course does not require a DBS check, you will need to disclose convictions when you firmly accept our offer. We may ask you for some more information about the nature of the conviction during the application process.
Please note that we won’t be able to proceed with your application until you provide this.
Making changes to your application
Being released into Clearing
If you change your mind, you can use the ‘Decline my place’ button in UCAS Hub. This will release you into Clearing – you will lose the offers you are currently holding and will be able to apply to another university through Clearing.
Changing your course
If you’d like to change course, we may be able to consider you for an alternative one, as long as places are still available and you meet the course entry requirements. Email the Admissions Team at admissions@uwe.ac.uk with full details of your preferred change and we’ll be happy to help.
Changing your personal details
Need to update your personal details? Once you’ve submitted your UCAS application, you can do this through UCAS – they’ll in turn update our systems here at UWE Bristol.
Deferring your place
If you’d like to defer please email the Admissions Team at admissions@uwe.ac.ukwith a note to explain your reasons. We’ll try our best to accommodate your request for a deferral, however, it’s not possible for all courses and you may be asked to reapply the following year.
