Project summary
Research to consider the nature, scope, efficacy and potential of current approaches to strategic planning policy and practice in England in 2024.
Key findings
Drawing on detailed documentary review, two national surveys, six in-depth case studies, and four practitioner focus groups, the report shows widespread appetite for planning reforms to address the fragmented nature of current practice. It presents some key areas for debate as future Governments consider how to re-introduce more effective forms of strategic planning in the future.
