Project summary

Developing an innovative drought science-narrative resource that can be used in decision-making for drought risk management. Droughts and water shortage pose a significant threat to the environment, agriculture, infrastructure, society and culture in the UK, affecting the lives of all of us.

The purpose of this project is to develop an innovative, evidence-based resource, which can be used for decision-making in drought risk management. This is a four year project and it started in April 2014.

Our project integrates arts, humanities and social science research methods, with hydrological, meteorological, agricultural and ecological science knowledge, through multi-partner collaboration. Further detail can be found via the interdisciplinary project team.

Seven case study catchments (areas linked by a common water resource) in England, Wales and Scotland will be selected to reflect the different hydrological, socio-economic and cultural contexts in the UK.
