UWE Bristol Vice-Chancellor Steve West receives knighthood at Windsor Castle
UWE Bristol Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Steve West received a knighthood for services to education, health, and business at a ceremony held at Windsor Castle.
Sir Steve received the honour from Princess Anne at the ceremony held on 24 October.
Attending the ceremony with his wife Samantha and five children, Sir Steve said: “This is a very special day for us but I hope for everyone at UWE Bristol. I have been at the University for 28 years and have enjoyed every single day. What we do to transform the lives of thousands of people every day is truly remarkable.
“Our reach and impact is local, regional and international and this honour is for everyone who has supported our story. As a post-1992 university this knighthood is very important because it breaks another glass ceiling for our sector. Thank you for all of your support and hard work in making UWE Bristol a fantastic place to be.”
