Bank Holiday arrangements
See all newsHonouring HM Queen Elizabeth II
UWE Bristol would like to express its deepest sadness following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our most sincere condolences to the Royal Family. The Queen leaves behind an astounding legacy of a lifetime of selfless public service.
Bank Holiday arrangements
The funeral will take place on Monday 19 September 2022. This day has been declared a Bank Holiday. Therefore there will be no teaching (either in-person or online) on Monday 19 September. This includes timetabled Starting Block activities. Your timetable may continue to show teaching, but these will not be taking place. Please make sure you're checking Blackboard for updates from your programme team.
Student support services, including the Information Points, libraries and the Accommodation Office, will be open if you have any questions. However, they may be running at a reduced capacity and we thank you for your patience.
The Registration Hub will be closed on the Bank Holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, 20 September. You can continue to register online using myUWE.
Sanctuary spaces and Books of Condolence
The funeral will be shown on Frenchay Campus. We have also opened Books of Condolence at the Octagon (Frenchay) and IH013B (Glenside).
The Octagon will be open for students who wish to find a quiet space on campus to relax, pray or meditate. The Muslim prayer rooms on Frenchay Campus (3E041 and 3E044B), and the sanctuary spaces at Glenside (1H013 and 1H013B), Bower Ashton (0B005), and Arnolfini (4AF028 ) will also be available.
