Description
Black Females in Architecture (BFA) is excited to present the second event in the ‘BFA learning mixers’ series, developed in collaboration with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and funded by the 2023 RIBA Local Initiative Fund (LIF).
Come join us for a powerful discussion on the impact of Black females in architecture and the importance of matriarchal practices.
The upcoming session 'Matriarchal and female-led practices,' is a collaborative event between BFA and UWE Bristol. The event will focus on the influence of women in architecture and the lessons we can draw from specifically African matriarchal practices in design.
With presentations from BFA members about their ongoing MA Research, Claire Miller about her work in practice, Ann de Graft-Johnson’s reflections on MATRIX and more female practitioners, the event will explore how these practices foster more equitable, culturally inclusive, and community-driven environments.
