Visionaire

Visionaire is a multi-format album of fashion and art produced in exclusive numbered limited editions. Since its inception in 1991, it has offered a forum for works by both famous and emerging artists from around the world as well as personalities, fashion designers, art directors and image makers. Each issue features a different theme and format for which each artist produces their own personal interpretation.

Scent

21 exclusively-made scents in individual glass vials that correspond to specially-created visuals.

Toys

A collection of ten vinyl toys created by ten fashion designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace, Alexander McQueen and Marc Jacobs.

Taste

Taste uses taste-film technology to deliver both easy-to-identify and highly conceptual flavours to the mouth, each accompanied by an image interpreting the concept.

Sound

Over one hundred original sound pieces by leading artists, musicians, and personalities consisting of five 12-inch vinyl picture disc records packaged inside a dome case. Each issue includes a MINI Clubman "Vinyl Killer" Record Player: a battery-operated toy car that acts as a portable record player.

Surprise

A series of intricate pop ups by various artists which include moveable images, three-dimensional scenes, and surprise reveals housed in a dark purple cloth-covered case with a magnetised closure and engraved numbered metal plaque.

Solar

An all white slip-case housing a board-bound book featuring all-white embroidery on the cover and black & white photography inside. When exposed to sunlight the case, embroidery and photographs transform into colour.

2010

A compendium of contemporary art in the form of an electronic daily calendar featuring 365 works of art selected by 52 internationally renowned curators and art collectors.

Fairytale

A mini-library of children's books by contemporary artists and photographers. 

Rio

A limited-edition portfolio featuring 3D photographs of Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer's iconic masterpieces.

Find Visionaire

UWE Bristol's collection of Visionaire is located in filing cabinets in the main part of Bower Ashton Library (City Campus). Some issues are also on display. Visionaire can be looked at in the library, only during Library staffed hours (Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00).
