Food Waste Reduction by Stealth
A project to develop food waste reduction campaigns whilst reducing the volume of household food waste.
Food Waste Reduction by Stealth received seed funding from the UWE Bristol Food System Research Cluster, a cross-college group of researchers seeking to find ways to make the UK food system fit for the future.
This project envisages developing food waste reduction campaigns targeted at specific household types that as well as reducing the volume of food they throw away also enable them to meet other priorities they have in relation to food, such as saving money and ensuring their children have a healthy diet. This would present an alternative approach to existing campaigns aimed at reducing household food waste which tend to be generalised and aimed at all household types.
So far, the project team involves Andy Ridgway, Senior Lecturer in Science Communication; Jo Bushell, Research Associate; and Dr Kamran Munir, Professor of Data Science at UWE Bristol.
