Project summary

The West of England has been selected by the Department for Transport to take part in a case study investigating the impact of sustainable transport measures on strategic employment sites and business parks. The case study will contribute to a national evaluation of the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF).

The study will provide a detailed assessment of the impact on commuting behaviour and business performance of sustainable transport measures at selected strategic employment sites and business parks in England. The impact of transport on employment and business performance has been identified as a priority area where there is a lack of evidence at the national level. The two areas selected for study in the West of England are the Portbury, Avonmouth and Severnside employment area (Portside) and the Bristol 'North Fringe'.
