UWE Brass

Centre for Music's newest ensemble, UWE Brass is a professionally directed group, rehearsing every Wednesday.

About UWE Brass

The Centre for Music is very excited to announce the establishment of a new brass band. Featuring standard instrumentation – cornets, tenor horns, baritones, trombones, euphoniums, tubas and percussion – the British brass band is an incredibly versatile and dynamic ensemble, capable of performing a diverse range of musical genres. From traditional marches to jazz; from film music to cutting edge original works.

UWE Brass will participate in the Shield section of UniBrass, the UK's best and only University brass band competition, and perform at St George's as part of UWE Centre for Music's Festival of Sound.

Rehearsals will be conducted by a professional musical director, with emphasis on practising enjoyable programmes and preparing for UniBrass, the brilliant student-organised national contest for university brass bands.
