Description
Come along to discuss the hottest topic in social media today: Is it time to let go of X (formerly Twitter) and acknowledge that since the take over by Elon Musk it is no longer fit for purpose? And worse - has it become a toxic place to be spreading false news and hate, damaging to society and the planet?
Join our expert panel Sharon Wheeler, Senior Lecturer in Journalism and PR and Justin Iriajen, Social Media manager at UWE Bristol. They will be in conversation with journalism students about the pros and cons of continued usage,
Hear about how X is changing and how organisations and individuals are leaving it for other smaller platforms. Because of its functionality and reach, hear why journalists are still using it as their channel of choice.
The discussion will be of interest to users and non users of X. All students and staff welcome. Come along to hear the arguments and come to your own conclusions!
