Description
Concerned about plastic pollution and want to know more? Hear from an exciting variety of speakers about the current industry perspective, practical challenges, solutions and future opportunities.
The speakers and questions should take 1 hour and 15 minutes.
After the session there will be time for networking and further questions.
For staff and students from UWE Bristol, the Sustainability team will be there and keen to hear your ideas to contribute to our Plastics reduction plan for 2025.
Refreshments provided.
Open to UWE Bristol staff and students and members of the public, this promises to be a stimulating event.

Thomas Merry will set the context – the current political and legal landscape, the latest industry perspective and positive moves now and in the next few years. |
Danielle Stephens CEO and founder of RecycleLab, a company making change, will talk about providing sustainable solutions to single-use laboratory plastic products, including at UWE Bristol. |
Ecotribo, an entrepreneurial design company in the new plastics economy, will explain how they upcycle ocean plastic waste into plant pots and other useful accessories. |
Dr Kathryn Lamb-Riddell, a researcher at the Health Tech Hub at UWE Bristol, will talk about the citizen science airborne microplastics project, ‘Homes Under the Microscope’. |
Lavalabs, a company based at Futurespace Bristol, have designed and tested Instarinse, an energy and water-efficient solution to washing reusable cups. |
Revive Innovations, a furniture design company, will talk about their how they upcycle waste CDs into their signature composite RE-CD. |
