This lecture was delivered by Dr Aida Abzhaparova, Associate Head for Student Experience in the then Department of Geography and Environmental Management (now known as the School of Architecture and Environment), College of Arts, Technology and Environment. The talk is called "Why my mother's lost Rubles turned me into a diplomat: how we gain achievement from loss".
Aida shared her view on why ambition is not everything, detailing a host of tools and techniques that help to focus on achievement. Aida emphasised that achievement is far more powerful, more enriching, and ultimately more meaningful.
