Ben Osborn, UK Country Manager and Managing Director, Pfizer UK - 8 September 2021
Ben delivered the University's prestigious annual Bolland Lecture as part of the Bristol Distinguished Address Series titled 'The power of the mission: how we can apply the lessons of the pandemic to make the UK a global life sciences superpower'.
The UK pioneered one of the most successful COVID-19 vaccination strategies anywhere in the world, immunising nearly every eligible UK adult in under six months. This incredible achievement was the result of close collaboration between government, NHS, regulators and industry, but also by driving towards a clear common goal.
In his very insightful talk, Ben spoke about how through mission-led policy making, there’s a unique opportunity to reset, be bold and operate differently. He also spoke about the future of healthcare, and how the UK can harness key lessons from the pandemic to help tackle the big health challenges of today and the future challenges of tomorrow.
