Partridge is renowned as an artist who has moved the practice of wood-working to new heights. Jim's vessels, furniture, sculptural work and even bridges incorporate deceptively simple techniques such as chainsawing and scorching to produce elegant, modern designs. Working with his partner, Liz Walmsley, Partridge collaborates with architects and clients on a wide range of interior and exterior pieces for private and public settings. Show 5 is a series of exhibitions at venues around the country featuring work by Jim, Ann Sutton, Carol, McNicoll, Michael Rowe and Richard Slee. Jim's exhibition will open at Manchester City Art Galleries in the autumn of 2003.
