David
Leach OBE, potter and educationist,
It is
with great sadness that we report the death of David Leach.
One of Britain's most respected potters and part of the Leach
dynasty begun by his father Bernard, David carved a unique
niche in the British studio pottery world. A gifted teacher
and demonstrator, David was particularly renowned for his
work in fluted porcelain with celadon glazes. Obituraies appeared
in many of the national newspapers and in the May/June issue
of Crafts Magazine.
David
was interviewed for the archive in 1993, one of the longest
video recordings conducted by NEVAC at approximately seven
hours.
David
Leach: born Tokyo 7th May 1911, died Devon, 15th February
2005.
