About the scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of our dear friend and colleague, Emma Halliwell, whose inspirational work advanced the field of body image and passion for encouraging students inspired many to pursue a career in psychology. It will fund an outstanding early career researcher to support their attendance and presentation at Appearance Matters 10.

Winner of the scholarship

Thank you to all who applied for the Dr Emma Halliwell Early Career Researcher Scholarship. We are thrilled to announce that this has been awarded to Hannah Jarman from Deakin University, who will be presenting her research, Drivers and impacts of social media use among adolescents: Informing interventions, at Appearance Matters 10.

With 27 applications received in total, the competition was fierce, but Hannah’s research stood out for its relevance and potential impact. We extend our congratulations to Hannah and commend all applicants for their hard work and dedication.

You can learn more about Hannah’s work and connect with her at AM10 in June.
