Colston's Last Journey
An interactive audio project.
The Regional History Centre is working in partnership with Bristol sound artist, Ralph Hoyte, on this Arts Council supported project. Colston’s Last Journey is a work of situated audio art exploring some of the broader historical issues behind the fall of Edward Colston’s statue in Bristol in 2020.
Professor Steve Poole is leading for the Regional History Centre. Ralph Hoyte is a Visiting Fellow at the RHC and the founder of the artist collective, Satysymph, with whom the Centre has worked before, most notably on Romancing the Gibbet and, currently, Intergroup Dynamics in the 1831 Reform Riots.
