External engagement

Bringing together research, education and engagement to address real-world challenges is at the heart of what we do. We work with clients from across public, private and voluntary sectors to provide a range of services, including tailored research, evaluation, consultancy and continuing professional development.

Taking a collaborative approach where possible, we work with partners to develop solutions that have direct practical application and a rigorous and robust conceptual underpinning. We have long-standing relationships with various national and regional organisations, including the NHS Leadership Academy, Public Health England, Bristol City Council and the Golden Key partnership, where we act as an ‘academic partner’ informing their interventions and advising on how to achieve the best outcomes.

Our approach to business and community engagement aligns closely with the overall UWE Bristol Strategy 2030 of quality learning, ready and able graduates, research with impact, and strategic partnerships, connections and networks. In addition to commissioned work, we also provide pro bono support to several local and national initiatives, such as the Bristol Mayor’s City Leadership Programme for young leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds.
