Project summary

The Urban ID project presented a set of diagnostic tools based on co-production, participatory engagement, systems thinking, and resilience and learning journeys that can be used by cities and urban areas to understand the barriers to solving the main challenges to sustainable, inclusive development.

The project brought together multiple viewpoints from across the Bristol Urban Area to reduce fragmentation and conflicts around how to create a more resilient, healthy, prosperous and sustainable city and to diagnose complex problems across four 'Challenge Themes':

  • Mobility and accessibility
  • Health and happiness
  • Equality and inclusion
  • the 'Carbon Neutral' city.

AQMRC (Dr Emily Prestwood and Professor James Longhurst) were research leads on the Carbon Neutral City challenge theme and the Bristol Green Capital Partnership city sustainability community case study.

Please email Professor James Longhurst at James.Longhurst@uwe.ac.uk for more details.
