Research Council projects
The Air Quality Management Resource Centre (AQMRC) endeavours to maintain a common theme of 'capacity building' within the work that we are involved in. AQMRC is recognised by peers and practitioners as a leading body for research and practice in local air quality management.
Research projects
BIOMOLD
The aim of this study is to produce the first population exposure estimates near all operating large scale outdoor composting facilities in England between 2005 and 2014 using existing bioaerosol modelling parameters.
CADTIME
The project aims to understand what is required to deliver significant reductions in levels of air pollution, within the confines of factors which are under our control, through affordable, effective interventions that consider and respond to future changes.
Carbon management at the city scale
An exploration of the low carbon futures for the Bristol region.
Enriching understanding of climate and energy related behaviours
DECC Energy Behaviour Fellowship follow on fund. The project provided support to a range of stakeholders involved in policies around public behaviours in relation to energy usage and climate change.
Consultation as Science Communication?
The project aimed to develop a model of communication processes used by local authorities in discharging their air quality duties and responsibilities.
DECC Energy Fellowship
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) Energy Fellowship. 12 months working in Whitehall, looking at individuals and communities’ energy behaviour, with a remit to challenge and be challenged.
Disruption
The Disruption project explored new approaches to tackling high-carbon travel patterns.
DISTILLATE
The project examined the barriers that prevent sustainable transport schemes being fully integrated into current transport and land-use planning policies.
ENDOTOXII
Detection and characterisation of inflammatory agents associated with bioaerosol emitted from biowaste and intensive agriculture.
Environmental exposure to endotoxin emissions from commercial composting activities
Investigated the endotoxin element of bioaerosol release from commercial composting facilities.
Health, Environment and Technology (heat@uwe)
The aim of heat@uwe is to develop a long-term culture at UWE Bristol to sustain interdisciplinary research.
Mediating consultation
Private sector consultancies engagement in Local Air Quality Management (LAQM).
MOT motoring and vehicle ownership trends in the UK
Bringing together new sources of data to give a spatially and disaggregated diagnosis of car ownership and use in Great Britain and the associated emissions and energy demands.
Commercialisation of plastic waste-derived fuel for generating electricity
Investigate Plaxx and a standard diesel fuel and compare them in terms of engine performance, engine emissions, wear and reliability.
RESIDE
The RESIDE project will help support the improvement of living conditions for millions of Indian citizens through establishing the knowledge base to develop a residential building code for high quality, low-energy housing across all five climatic zones in India.
Urban ID
A set of diagnostic tools based on co-production, participatory engagement, systems thinking, and resilience and learning journeys that can be used by cities and urban areas to understand the barriers to solving the main challenges to sustainable, inclusive development.
Air Quality Management Resource Centre (AQMRC)
The AQMRC is widely recognised by air quality and carbon management practitioners, nationally and internationally as a leading provider of information, advice, research and consultancy.
