Support whilst studying abroad
You’ll be supported by dedicated staff from UWE Bristol’s Study Abroad team and by an academic coordinator before, during and after your studies abroad. While abroad, you will maintain access to UWE Bristol services and facilities.
After you’ve been selected for exchange, you’ll be invited to a pre-departure workshop where you’ll get advice and guidance on fees and funding, language learning, finding accommodation abroad, dealing with cultural differences and much more.
Our workshop content is complemented by a practical guide and pre-departure checklist (PDF).
Access to UWE Bristol services
All study abroad students remain enrolled at UWE Bristol during their time abroad, and are entitled to access UWE Bristol services and facilities, including resources through the UWE Bristol Library and online and phone support from the Wellbeing Service.
Access to facilities at your host university
Study abroad students are supported by an exchange office at their host university, and have full access to services and facilities at their host university.
Students with additional support needs
UWE Bristol encourages applications from all students, including those with physical, learning or mental health needs. Full support is available to ensure access plans can be met at host universities. Applications from all students are considered equally. Selections are made on the basis of academic attainment, referee endorsement and the quality of your written application.
