Parking issues in residential areas
Parking in residential areas has become an issue of great inconvenience and distress to the residents. As a responsible neighbour, UWE Bristol expects that students and staff adhere to our Car Parking Policy (PDF) and park their cars in designated University car parks, or find alternative methods of travel to campus.
Parking restrictions around Frenchay Campus
There have been a number of complaints surrounding students parking in residential areas around Frenchay Campus. As individuals we all have a duty to respect our neighbours and the University is no different. Please help us to maintain a good relationship with our surrounding communities.
Stoke Park estate
South Gloucestershire Council have now installed single and double yellow lines throughout the Stoke Park estate. Parking is therefore forbidden on weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00 on single yellow lines and at any time on double yellow lines.
Parking in areas marked as ‘Private Residential Parking’ or ‘Private Property’ is prohibited to non-residents.
Cheswick estate and Scholars Chase
Parking in Cheswick Estate and Scholars Chase includes private residential parking. Please do not park anywhere that is prohibited.
Bower Ashton residents' parking scheme
A residents' parking zone has been introduced to the Bower Ashton area. You can find more information on the Bristol City Council website.
For alternative ways to travel to Bower Ashton visit our travel page.
Action against illegal parking
In all cases where cars are parked illegally the University will support local residents, the police and local authorities to take all reasonable and legal measures against motorists that infringe the parking restrictions.
Community relations
UWE Bristol and the Students’ Union work hard to build good community relations with our local communities.
Please help us to maintain a good relationship with our neighbours by parking in designated UWE Bristol car parks or if possible, use public transport, cycle or walk to University.
