Playing and singing opportunities
There are many ways to become involved with the Centre for Music, depending on your interests and talents.
All Together Now
- Singing group open to all students and staff.
- Quick-to-learn songs by the likes of Imogen Heap, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars and Radiohead.
- A mix of A cappella and accompanied arrangements.
Big Band
- The Big Band is an energetic and polished ensemble, led by musicians Keith Morgan and Andy Hague.
- We always want to hear from new players so if you are not sure you have enough musical experience then please get in touch.
- Big Band rehearse once a week on Monday evenings.
Gospel Choir
- The Gospel Choir is directed by Kim Samuels.
- Everyone is welcome – there's no audition and no previous experience is necessary.
- Gospel Choir rehearse once a week on Wednesday lunchtimes.
Orchestra
- Conducted by Senior Lecturer in Classical and Jazz Music Enrichment Anri Adachi.
- The UWE Orchestra welcomes players of all orchestral instruments at Grade 6 standard and above.
- We rehearse once a week on Tuesday evenings.
UWE Brass Band
- A brand new, professionally directed, traditional brass band.
- Practising weekly with the aim of competing in UniBrass.
UWE Singers
- UWE Singers is our biggest choir, directed by renowned conductor Ben England.
- No audition is required but experience singing in a choir will be valuable.
- UWE Singers rehearse once a week on Tuesday evenings.

We offer a range of courses and masterclasses to help you learn recording, producing and mixing techniques.

In order to join any of our groups, access to rehearsal rooms, or come to any sessions all you need to do is sign up to become a member of the Centre for Music.
