Becoming a member
UWE Centre for Music is an exclusive facility for all UWE Bristol students and staff. To join any of our playing and singing groups, take advantage of our rehearsal rooms and studio space, come to any sessions or access music lessons, all you need to do is sign up to become a member of the Centre for Music.
- Membership is free for UWE Bristol students.
- Membership is £40 per year for staff.
Centre for Music events
The Centre for Music runs a busy diary of concerts from September to the end of March each year in some great venues. Our various music groups are involved in all sorts of events around UWE Bristol and the city.

Playing and singing opportunities
All Together Now
A singing group open to all students and staff and all abilities. We use quick-to-learn songs by the likes of Imogen Heap, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars and Radiohead, with a mix of A cappella and accompanied arrangements.
Big Band
The Big Band is an energetic and polished ensemble, led by experienced jazz musicians Keith Morgan and Nick Attwood with support from Centre for Music's Senior Lecturer Steve Legge.
Gospel choir
The Gospel Choir is directed by Kim Samuels. Come and experience a whole new way of singing and performing.
Orchestra
The UWE Orchestra, conducted by Senior Lecturer in Classical and Jazz Music Enrichment, Steve Legge, plays a hugely varied repertoire.
Saxfaction
A lively, friendly and flexible group for saxophones of all sizes. Saxfaction play a mix of jazz and pop under the direction of Keith Morgan.
UWE Brass Band
The band is a student run group who rehearse each week leading to major concerts and competitions.
UWE Singers
Under the leadership of internationally renowned conductor Ben England and accompanist Alison Howell, the choir sings a rich programme of classical and contemporary music, with workshops, masterclasses and performances throughout the year.
