The UK Government is transitioning to electronic visas. If you have a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), you should create an eVisa account with UK Visas and Immigration now. This is particularly important if you plan to travel during the winter break.

Do you need a visa

You will need to apply for a student visa if you require a visa to come to the UK and you wish to study on a full-time course of more than six months at UWE Bristol.

Applicants who need permission to enter the UK and who plan to study on a full-time course of more than six months will need a student visa.

Immigration Health Surcharge

Applications for visas that are more than six months long also include an Immigration Health Surcharge. The cost is based on the length of the visa that you are applying for.

Standard Visitor visa

The Standard Visitor visa may be for you if you want to study a course that lasts six months or less.

Non-student visas

The type of study you can do may be limited if your visa is short term with restrictive conditions, such as the Standard Visitor visa.
