GREAT Scholarships 2025

About the scholarship

The GREAT Scholarships 2025 programme, launched by the British Council together with 71 UK universities, supports postgraduate students in accessing world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers substantial financial support with a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Please note that applicants should be passport holders of Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan and Turkey.

 

Study level	These scholarships are available for eligible postgraduate courses.
Award values	Financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK.
Number of awards available	One for each eligible country (Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan and Turkey).

Eligibility	The applicant must: be a citizen of Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan or Turkey possess an unconditional offer for the eligible courses listed here hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0, equivalent to a first-class classification or its international equivalent.

Interview shortlist

• Monday 12 May 2025

CGPA and quality of personal statement will be the criteria to shortlist applicants for interview.

Interviews start

• Monday 19 May 2025

Award announced

• Friday 23 May 2025

Conditions

• Applicants must not be sponsored students or recipients of another UWE Bristol tuition fee discount.
• The successful applicant must engage in ambassadorial responsibilities for UWE Bristol and the British Council.
